abstract
A number of studies have shown that chaos occurs in scattering: the outgoing deflection angle is seen to be an erratic function of the impact parameter. We propose to extend this to quantum field theory, and to use erratic behavior of the many-particle $S$-matrix as a probe of chaos.

From Confinement to Chaos in AdS/CFT Correspondence via Non-equilibrium Local States
In holographic confining backgrounds, temporal peak statistics of boundary correlators after local quenches approach the Gaussian Symplectic Ensemble for heavy operators and, in capped BTZ, even for massless ones.

Spectral form factors for curved spacetimes with horizon
The spectral form factor of brick-wall normal modes shows a random-matrix-like dip-ramp-plateau for both BTZ and de Sitter horizons, while the generalized three-level form factor distinguishes these integrable systems...

Higher-dimensional chaotic features and random matrix signatures following a local quench
Extrema of local-quench two-point functions in free 1+1 and 2+1 scalar theory show soft-to-GOE nearest-neighbor repulsion and geometry-dominated all-pair form factors.
