abstract

We study the general features of the dynamics of the phantom field in the cosmological context. In the case of inverse coshyperbolic potential, we demonstrate that the phantom field can successfully drive the observed current accelerated expansion of the universe with the equation of state parameter $w_{\phi} < -1$. The de-Sitter universe turns out to be the late time attractor of the model. The main features of the dynamics are independent of the initial conditions and the parameters of the model. The model fits the supernova data very well, allowing for $-2.4 < w_{\phi} < -1$ at 95 % confidence level.

Evolving Dark Energy Is Vacuum Energy After All

astro-ph.CO · 2026-06-18 · conditional · novelty 5.0

A QCD-vacuum dark-energy model with a two-parameter switch reproduces the DESI-preferred late-time expansion and is mildly favoured over ΛCDM by Bayesian evidence (lnB≈2.7).

Quintom Model Perturbations

astro-ph.CO · 2026-06-25 · unverdicted · novelty 4.0

A two-field quintom model reproduces w0waCDM perturbation features and is mildly favored over it in Bayesian fits to BAO, CMB, and SNIa data.

  • Effective Phantom Dark Energy: What Cosmological Reconstruction Does and Does Not Imply astro-ph.CO · 2026-05-26 · unverdicted · none · ref 72 · internal anchor

Effective phantom dark energy is a background-level reconstruction that does not imply fundamental pathologies such as ghost instabilities or null energy condition violation by the underlying stress tensor.
