abstract

We explore the role of redshift-space galaxy clustering data in constraining non-gravitational interactions between dark energy (DE) and dark matter (DM), for which state-of-the-art limits have so far been obtained from late-time background measurements. We use the joint likelihood for pre-reconstruction full-shape (FS) galaxy power spectrum and post-reconstruction Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) measurements from the BOSS DR12 sample, alongside Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) data from \textit{Planck}: from this dataset combination we infer $H_0=68.02^{+0.49}_{-0.60}\,{\rm km}/{\rm s}/{\rm Mpc}$ and the 2$\sigma$ lower limit $\xi>-0.12$, among the strongest limits ever reported on the DM-DE coupling strength $\xi$ for the particular model considered. Contrary to what has been observed for the $\Lambda$CDM model and simple extensions thereof, we find that the CMB+FS combination returns tighter constraints compared to the CMB+BAO one, suggesting that there is valuable additional information contained in the broadband of the power spectrum. We test this finding by running additional CMB-free analyses and removing sound horizon information, and discuss the important role of the equality scale in setting constraints on DM-DE interactions. Our results reinforce the critical role played by redshift-space galaxy clustering measurements in the epoch of precision cosmology, particularly in relation to tests of non-minimal dark sector extensions of the $\Lambda$CDM model.

  1. Hubble tension: the shape wall

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Late-time modifications to the expansion history can raise H0 by at most about 2% (conservative) to 3.7% (permissive) if the CMB acoustic scale is fixed.

  2. A microphysically inspired approach to dark matter-dark energy interactions: first bounds on dark-sector scattering cross sections

    astro-ph.CO 2026-01 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A microphysically motivated Q∝ρ² dark-sector interaction is constrained by cosmological data, giving upper limits A<7.6×10⁻²⁵, B<0.048, and H₀=67.71±0.65 km/s/Mpc.

  3. BAO miscalibration cannot rescue late-time solutions to the Hubble tension

    astro-ph.CO 2025-10 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Even after rescaling BAO data to prefer H0≈73 km/s/Mpc, none of six tested late-time dark-energy models can resolve the Hubble tension once unanchored SNeIa and CMB geometry are included.

  4. The simple way to measure evolving dark energy without prior-volume effects

    astro-ph.CO 2025-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Absorbing the AP and growth amplitudes into EFTofLSS nuisance parameters removes prior-volume shifts and yields Stage III LSS-only evolving dark energy constraints aligned with DESI.

  5. Background-level reconstruction of scalar-field potentials from dark-energy histories and comparison with analytic potential families

    astro-ph.CO 2026-03 conditional novelty 5.5 of 10

A background reconstruction maps prescribed ρ_de(z) histories to V(φ) and ranks analytic potentials by Bayesian evidence, with exponential preferred for CPL and shifted-tanh for sign-switching targets.

  6. Sign Switching in Dark Sector Coupling Interactions as a Candidate for Resolving Cosmological Tensions

    astro-ph.CO 2025-01 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A sign-switching dark-sector coupling, fitted to CMB, DESI BAO, and supernova data, can simultaneously raise H0 and lower S8, but the preference over LambdaCDM depends on using SH0ES-calibrated supernovae.

  7. Improving cosmological constraints via galaxy intrinsic alignment in full-shape analysis

    astro-ph.CO 2024-12 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A Fisher forecast shows that adding full-shape intrinsic alignment information to galaxy clustering tightens cosmological constraints, particularly for dark energy and non-flat modified-gravity models.

  8. Dark Energy Is Not That Into You: Variable Couplings after DESI DR2 BAO

    astro-ph.CO 2025-08 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

With DESI DR2 data, one interacting dark sector model with a time-dependent coupling shows a nonzero coupling at more than 95% CL, but Bayesian evidence still favors Lambda-CDM.

  9. Solving an Interacting Quintessence Model with a Sound Horizon Initial Condition and its Observational Constraints

    gr-qc 2025-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

An interacting quintessence model with initial conditions set by the CMB sound horizon angle increases H0 with coupling strength, but observational constraints show it does not resolve the H0 or S8 tensions.
